Jace Survived His Eviction, Smile Intact #BB17

I don't know why Jace has such a complicated Instagram name, but this is it, if you want to follow him.

I was going to be mean and mention how Frankie kind of jumped when he saw himself on camera during the live show last night, and quickly tried to pose his legs in those shorty shorts the way he likes to do.  And how ridiculous he looked sitting there with normal, decent people, trying to grab the spotlight and squeeze a few more drops of buzz out of CBS.

But that would be mean, so I won't say that.  But I'm sure Frankie is thrilled that Jace called him out by name after his eviction after spotting him in the front row. Jace did a great job in his interview with Julie Chen and came off as very sincere, in my opinion.  Maybe Frankie can introduce Jace to some people with juice in LA.

And this is Robyn Kass, of course.  She must be very proud with the way the season has started and the potential for drama. She found some real characters this year for the show.  That's her job and she's pretty good at it.

Lots of Action on a Friday Night #BB17

Here is the deal with the timing this weekend.

Every year, CBS puts on a big July 4th extravaganza on the Radford Lot, where the BB soundstage is located.  On Saturday, they will have an event with live music and fireworks, and I think the public can attend. So the house guests will be locked in all day tomorrow, but last year they let them watch the fireworks on the TV screen (probably with no sound).

So that is one of the main reasons why they will have all of this week's competitions out of the way by the end of today, on Friday.  Accordingly, the PoV should happen later this afternoon.

Also, during BB15, if you recall someone won a BBQ dinner prize for July 4th and got to invite a certain number of house guests to eat with them. Jessie didn't get picked and pitcheed a real hissy fit about it.  So maybe Kathy Griffin will call and whoever picks up will win a similar prize.

OK. Moving on.

The following pictures were taken around 2:30 am BBT, after the nominations were made.  The timing of that related to BBAD---they waited until filming was over to hold the noms.  So the BBAD episode last night is full of meetings that both Shelli and Becky took with everyone prior to the nomination's a good one, too.

That's Becky below on the left, wearing the dark top.  She's saying that she's not even going to bother moving her things upstairs until after she finds out if she'll be the final HoH.

Steve:  That's usually the way it's done.

And there's Julia trying to get back into the swing of things.  She and her sister will survive another week, it seems.  But will someone figure out their secret?

(Last night in the Have Not room Jason entertained the crowd by saying Johnny Mac might be part of a Twin Twist, because "everyone else looks too distinctive to have a twin".  They were all laughing about it and went to stare at the memory wall.  Meg wanted to go wake Johnny up to look at him but refrained.)

And I loved the twin segment on the CBS show last night.  It was so funny when Julia was switching back out the first time and saying that she loved Jeff, and Austin, and that "James loves him some Liz action", and Liz said "who?"

Ha ha ha.  The guy with the damn visor plastered to his head!  And you know it's probably stuck on there, too.

Now on a serious note, Day is somber.  She and her Ride or Die Main Apple Scrapple are both nominated, but on different sides.

Jason isn't surprised.

Jason:  I knew this would happen.  They've been talking about this for three days, girl.  They want to split us up.

Lots of commotion in the kitchen.  Meg cooked up a big batch of slop and everyone milled around, probably either relieved or panicked, and not much in between.

Vanessa made a bag of microwave popcorn and had a detailed conversation with Shelli about the calories posted on the bag.  Apparently the bag says there are 2.5 servings and that is a caloric problem.  But people like Johnny Mac who just got nominated probably want to turn around and slap that popcorn bag across the room, right?

I heard Meg say later that she planned to start eating slop just plain, and then gradually start adding more stuff to make it palatable as the Have Not week goes on.

Note to Vanessa: If you don't want to eat the whole bag of popcorn, you really need to put your portion in a bowl or something.  Because that's how they get you.

But maybe there aren't any clean dishes around there.  So there's that.

Austin poked his head out of the lounge as Johnny Mac was walking by and gave him some words of encouragement, saying he's sure that John is not the target, and there is no way the group would vote him out if he's still on the block on Thursday.

(But don't forget the Last Laugh.....)

I love the way those lighted bubbles look in the hallway, picking up the blue dots running down the hallway.

I'll say it again:  I'm more than ready for Austin to start wearing shirts around there.  Be an adult Austin, and do us all a solid.

Vanessa went up to the bridge area and had a little conversation with Shelli, congratulating her on her nominations.

Shelli:  You have big balls Shelli!  You really drew a line in the sand with those noms.

In this conversation Shelli made it sound like she was open to backdooring Audrey, but I heard her tell Clay later that she didn't want to be the one to evict Audrey.  I've heard Vanessa's thoughts on this topic earlier this week....she says the power and knowledge Audrey had last week will soon be gone since the game will shift and reorganize.  She thinks Audrey will want to work with her, and could be a number for them.

Also, Vanessa also looks at people in terms of having to sit beside them on the block.  She's probably pretty sure that if she were next to Audrey, Audrey would be evicted.  I think she thinks the same about guys like Jeff and Clay...they will always be seen as a bigger threat.

Makes sense.  She's thinking about the percentages and the math, and not about the emotions.

Shelli knows that if Becky is the HoH this week, her plan is to backdoor Audrey, based on personal attacks Audrey has made on her.  (Basically telling people Becky made racist comments, which is not true.)

Inside the HoH room they looked at her pictures.  Sounds like Shelli's hottie twin Wes is married and has a few cute kids.  She wishes she had a better picture of her little brother.  It sounds like they gave her a goofy picture of him that might not be as flattering as it could be.

On a daily basis I think Vanessa looks tiny, but next to Shelli that is not the case.  Shelli said she is 5'4",so that makes Vanessa around 5'6" or 5'7".

Shelli repeated to Vanessa almost exactly what she told Big Jeff---that she wanted to come in and play quietly for some time while she sized everyone up and tried to determine the team to work with.  She told Jeff that she didn't want to make a big move too soon, but she tells Vanessa that this week is the time for her to do that.

She wants Da'Vonne out.

(I hope that doesn't happen, but I'm just reporting the action here.)

Shelli collapsed on the bed while Vanessa looked at her pictures. The room looks so neat and tidy.  I'm sure that won't last long.

This room gives me a headache.  Or maybe a toothache is more appropriate this season.  I guess this is the room where the ex-Have Nots will be sleeping in while they wait for the opportunity to move up to that other bedroom with the chains on the walls.

Austin and The Twin are both happy with the noms.  During his meeting with Shelli after her HoH win, Shelli told Austin to relay to Liz that she is safe this week, and not to worry.  But then she said that Liz was the only person who didn't come up and congratulate her on her win, but that would not influence her decision.

Surely Austin told Liz that, right?  I would hope so, to allow her to make the appropriate adjustments to her game.

Clay came in and started stripping down But the cameras shifted to another view quickly.  Sorry, fans.

After the Live Show Ended, Another Show Started #BB17

A few minutes after the live show ended, the live feeds came back up, with a view of the living room where it seemed most of the house guests were sitting, slowly coming down after the excitement and tension of the live show (and the entire day, for that matter).

They knew there were technical issues during the show.  Instead of hearing the (annoying) "Get Ready for a Takeover" jingle, they heard a guy's voice on the PA reading the line, and telling them to go in the living room.  (ha ha ha)  Apparently one of the cameras had an issue as well...there were very loud squeaking noises.

Shelli said it freaked her out when Julie Chen said her name when it was her turn to vote on the live show.

Jeff said he blanked out when he went in the DR to vote and almost said "Jackie" because he couldn't remember Jace's name.

The first group to play the HoH didn't have much time to acclimate when they went to the backyard, but the second group got to sit on the sidelines and look around at the other elements of the competition set.  They saw that behind the HoH competition there was a dentist office set up and Jason started speculating about what that could mean.

You can tell Vanessa is already moving on to her next hand.  She wonders out loud what the "Power of the Last Laugh" could mean anything, everybody says.  I'm sure Vanessa is calculating her odds of going on the block --- Becky is a wild card as an HoH, I'm sure.

(Although I heard later that Becky was aware that Audrey was trying to start rumors that she made offensive racist comments, and certainly was not happy about that, to say the least.)

Jackie said she was so nervous, talking to Julie Chen.

Jackie:  I was shaking so bad when I sat back down.  I couldn't even hear what Jace said in his speech.

Jason asks Big Brother to please let him go outside before they start building the BoB set so he can have a quick smoke.

Jason:  I'm not gonna be that whiney bitch asking you for nicotine patches!

Jason also joked about how bad he did in the competition, saying the live feeders were saying "there goes Jason...he's the dumbest again."

Meg could just feel the family vibe from home tonight.  She says she felt her family sitting to watch the live show at the same time she was on the BB couch, and the feeling was incredible.

The West Coast house guests started yammering about their delayed PST broadcast, but Meg is an East Coast girl.  She knows her people at home were watching her and she felt it.

Jason admits he was a little sassy when he voted to evict Jace (but what about that brazenly rude good bye message he left for Jace?).

I've missed the good old days when the house guests regularly left mean good bye messages for each other.  So thanks to Jason for that.  America's Favorite Stock Boy.

Da'Vonne was quiet, and sat eating on the couch.  She wondered out loud when the nominations would take place.

Da'Vonne:  I want to get that shit over with.

The house guests heard the audience laugh when Da'Vonne voted to evict Jace.  She told them that she said "Bye" after placing her vote.  (I wonder if Production will rip Clay a new one for all of those shout outs he did for the folks back home after he voted.  That is a major no-no, if you don't know-know.)

The house guests were talking about how Derrick and Frankie didn't spend much time in the Have Not room last year.

WTF are they talking about?  Derrick was a Have Not at least three times, maybe four.  Frankie is the one who claimed he couldn't sleep in the cold room due to health issues.

Brace Yourself --This Might Be Upsetting News #BB17

I forgot about Production speeding up the competitions every year due to the long holiday weekend.  So, even though it's around 7:00 am in the Big Brother house, they've already had nominations and also the Battle of the Block competition.

So if you don't know:

*  Becky nominated Jason and Steve.
*  Shelli nominated Da'Vonne and Johnny Mac.
*  Jason and Steve won the BoB.

*  So....Shelli is this weeks final HoH.  And two serious fan favorites are on the block right now.

*  I think the Have Nots are Steve, Meg, Jason and James.  (Not positive about Steve, though.)

I know, I know.  You're thinking that Audrey is the backdoor target this week.  She might be, but I just heard Shelli with my own ears tell Clay that she didn't want to be the one to send Audrey home this week.  (Yes, that is Clay and Shelli huddled up under the covers.)

So, if she's not gonna do that, wouldn't that mean that she won't nominate Audrey if somebody uses the PoV?

So, if the people on the block aren't upsetting enough, then that little tidbit of information is the cherry on our live feed cake today.

Da'Vonne has been crying, ya'll.  She washed her face but is sniffling a little.

It's a big, lonely sound stage sometimes.

OK.  Back to the HoH room.  First, let me assure you that everything is "decent and normal" in there (Raising Arizona reference).  They are snuggling and talking, but I don't think there will be anything other than that going on this week up there.  They are very wholesome, these two.

A few tidbits from their conversation:

*  Shelli went on and on about how sweet Steve is.  (That's nice and all, but at a certain point it is insulting to talk about someone like that, in a "Bless his heart" kind of way.)

*  They think the hinky vote was from Audrey, but it sounds like no one cares about it.

*  They hope Jace is okay out there, and Clay wonders how his interview with Julie Chen went.

Clay:  Who knows....he could be the next Macklemore.

Shelli  Well, then we'll be friends with the new Macklemore!

*  Shelli said Meg is "as pretty as she can be" (so Southern...) and Clay says he loves how bubbly her personality is...Shelli can't wait to go visit Meg in New York.

*  Shelli:  And I can't wait to go to Vegas!  To see Vanessa and also see Jackie's show!

Clay kind of scoffs at that:  I don't know...she's a show girl.

Shelli:  I know!  But you don't want to see that?  C' don't want to see her in the show?

(Clay is a prude.  And I don't think he's putting on a Prude Show.  I think he's a legit prude.)

*  Shelli said her mom is probably watching, and Clay said "Hey Mama Poole!  I bet you're a fox!"

Clay:  Your parents may not like me..

Shelli:  Why?  What did you do?

Clay mentioned a few things he may have said about being careful with people, but Shelli said as long as you didn't say anything mean, everything should be fine.  Shelli said the bigger question is what his parents would say about her.  Clay said it's kind of been a joke with his family, saying they tease him about marrying someone who already has five kids.

Shelli:  Well, if my brother was on TV and he was 23 and was hanging with some 33 year old lady...I don't know.  I know I said that age is just a number, but so much is going to change in your life between the ages of 23 and 33...who you are, what you want, where you want to live and what you want to be...all of that is going to change.

Meg and Jeff had a little meeting in Storage.  Jeff is still going on and on about Jace, saying he hates people like that who are super insecure.

Meg: I know....I hate Jace.

Jeff says he feels like a big weight is off his back with Jace gone.

Jeff thinks Austin really turned his back on Jace last week and did him dirty as a friend.  He also said Vanessa has a "super sketch" vibe about her and tries to come off like she's so chill and cool, and anyone can talk to her.

Jeff:  I don't know.....I just get a weird vibe from her.

(Like a 4 million dollar vibe, Jeff?  I'll bet you won't feel any vibes from Vanessa when you're looking for a place to stay in Las Vegas.)

Jeff thinks Johnny Mac threw the BoB, noting how slow he was going.

Jeff:  He was told to throw it.  I guarantee it.
