Bro Code #435 - Forgive Bros Who Have Bro'ed Out Against You. #BB17

Jace and Jeff's bromance has been there and back and now they've patched it up and are ready to move on.  If we get to see Austin hit the bricks on Thursday, will they show him the same welcome?  Will they want to be seen in public with him?

They need to hook up a Big Brother live event at a sports bar or something.  Get a percent of the action.  I'm sure Jeff knows how to negotiate the swag.

It's Saturday Morning and All is Well. Or Is It? #BB17.

Just now, the PoV players were picked, and here is the lineup for today's competition:

*  Vanessa, HoH
*  Shelli, picked by Vanessa as Houseguest's Choice
*  Clay and Becky, nominees for eviction
*  Liz and John, randomly drawn

Jason will be the host for the comp today.  Everyone is chattering about winning prizes, but I think most of these players want to win, hardcore.  Although I've been surprised before about that....

***EARLIER TODAY***

Everyone is up and either eating or primping to get ready for the PoV player pick ceremony.  The group in the bathroom is light and breezy, making light chatter as they go through their morning routines.

Jason says after watching all of the girls put on makeup, he wishes he could do that, too.

Jason:  My skin is VILE right now.

They discussed Vanessa's current breakout issue, and feel sympathy for her.

Jason: I was like, look at my damn skin, Vanessa!

Jason wanted to use Accutane before coming in the BB house, but one of the warnings is that users could experience a lot of breakouts in the first six weeks of treatment.

Jason:  So I was like, no thanks.  And one of the side effects is that you might want to kill yourself, so I was like,...this isn't a good time right now!

Johnny Mac walked in and heard them talking about Accutane.  He's discussed this with Jason before, but he's took Accutane when he was 24 and his skin has been clear since then.

John:  But those side effects are scary....most people with acne problems are depressed about it to begin with, so...

Jason has avoided using Proactiv because he's heard so many bad things about it, including the fact that they keep sending it to you and charging your credit card.  Plus he heard that it lightens your skin and your skin gets "addicted to it" and gets worse if you stop using it.

Austin made breakfast for himself and Liz.  He must feel that something strange is in the air, because I heard Liz ask him why he's worried....he's safe this week, right?

Austin shoveled down his food like a caveman and left Liz there to finish her breakfast without him.

Now it's Clay's turn to man the stove, and he has a lot of short orders to fill.

While Clay was cooking, he gave Meg an assignment to make fresh coffee.  Somehow she messed it up by not snapping the filter basket back in the right way, so coffee started brewing and spilling all over the counter.

There was a lot of joking around about Meg's lack of kitchen skills.  Although it's probably not a joke...Meg is clueless in the kitchen, clearly.

Johnny Mac rolled through the kitchen, flossing his teeth.  Which is kind of weird, right?

Jason calls the kitchen "Honeycutt's Haircutting and Breakfast Emporium" because of all the things Clay does for them.  He made everybody omelets and everyone jokes about Clay being their dad, even though he is one of the youngest in the house.

Meg:  Once I found out his last name is Honeycutt, I can't stop saying it...Honeycutt....Honeycutt...

Shelli:  Yeah, once I heard that was his last name, I was like, everything is perfect, what's next?

***AND NOW, BACK TO THE PRESENT***

It's always so fun to watch the live feeds when they come back after an event.  All of the live feeders scour the action to try and piece together what just happened.

I watched the cameras follow Vanessa as she slowly walked through the house with her coffee cup, and then sitting on her HoH bed, thinking deeply.  Is she happy? Worried?  Would it freaking kill her to talk to us?

Another camera view tracks Austin as he walks around, frizzy hair flowing behind him.  My live feed experience tells me this could be either good or bad for Austin's game.  I heard Liz make chatter about being shocked to be picked to play.

And then I saw Johnny Mac go into the bathroom and confirm that he's going to play to win.

John:  And then I'd save Becky, because that's what people would expect me to do.

Clay:  Yeah.  That's fine.

Then Austin came in and was worried about Clay...he says that if "they" wanted to target Liz, "they" might be doing the same thing to Clay and he should watch out.  Clay kind of brushed that off by indicating he's going to play hard today.

And I'm impressed with how strong someone's Towel Folding Game is...just look at that tight stack of bath towels in there. I don't expect that to last long, so let's admire it now.

As Clay brushes his teeth, Shelli sashays in clutching her own coffee cup, and sits where she can watch Clay.

Clay, in a flirty tone:  What are you smirking about?

So, Shelli was picked to play by Vanessa. They're happy about it.  And let's face it, Shelli is a beast in the competitions.

After rinsing his mouth, Clay came right over and said they need to make sure Liz will use the PoV if she wins.

(I think it's WAY, WAY too early to talk to Liz about that, based on her attitude in there right now...)

Upstairs Jackie and Vanessa are laughing nervously about the situation.  Vanessa complains that she didn't want to have to run another meeting in the house...she wanted Jackie to do it.

Vanessa asked for Jackie's advice....should she try to win today?  Jackie gave her what I think was a great answer, as follows.

*  If it looks like Liz is going to win, take it from her and play to win.
*  If it looks like Becky or Clay is going to win, let it happen.
*  If it looks like Shelli or John is going to win, let that happen, too, since it is natural that they would want to use the PoV to save their friends.

Vanessa:  Here's the problem.  I feel like I need to tell Liz now, before we play.  Because what if it's one of those pick things....I need to choose her first, to get her out first, right?

Jackie: Why?  Who cares?

Vanessa:  I care, because she's about to be two people, and I don't want two people against me.

Jackie disputes this, saying it doesn't matter, and that it's too risky that she will tell Austin ahead of time.

Vanessa:  But what if we approach her as a group, telling her that if she's in the alliance, we need to tell her what the situation is.  I know I can tell her girl-to-girl, and make her understand that it's the right thing to do, that it's in her best interest.  I just need her to understand that she's got the numbers, the support behind her.

Jackie: Oh...okay...

Vanessa:  And they both want to win that money....they need the money.  And I would bet my whole fucking life that they're both coming in here next week.

(Jackie is slow to learn about this, so Vanessa is trying to act like she hasn't known the Twin Twist rules for weeks now.)

Vanessa: I just don't want to take a chance at pissing them off.  They're good at comps...they won physical comps and mental comps.

Jackie:  They might switch before the PoV, and we'll get the other one.  That's what Jason said.  But I agree we have to prepare for her winning, and then deal with it later.

Becky Burgess came up to the HoH, and is obviously on edge, about to lose it.

Vanessa: Hey!  What's up? Is it Liz getting picked?

Becky:  Shelli....Shelli is the top competitor in this house...did you see her when you picked her?  She started jumping up and down and cheering!

Vanessa, rushing over to calm Becky:  Honey, listen, you are not going home this week..

Becky:  I'm just....Shelli is the top competitor, and she's going to play for her man.

Vanessa:  John is going to play for you...John is playing for you!

Becky: But Shelli is the top competitor!

(Uh Becky....John is no slouch at the PoV comps, either...)

Vanessa:  Look I had to pick her...you saw us earlier talking about it.  She's been the HoH twice and kept me safe both times....

Becky's trying to hold it together, but she's rattled.  I think losing the BoB when teamed with such a strong player like Clay (and against James, who was trying to lose) has shaken her confidence.

Vanessa:  Look, if it looks like Liz is going to win, that's the only time you're going to really see me compete to win.  I would prefer you guys to win it, really I would.

And you know this was coming:

Vanessa:  You've already seen me, Vanessa Rousso, take a bath in blood...I don't need any more of it on me!

Becky actually cracks a smile, but clearly she doesn't want to be left on the block on Thursday night.  That is a fear Becky will have to deal with...her friend Jackie has...

Becky:  I just got nervous when you picked Shelli....I got worried.

Vanessa:  I should have prepared you for that...that's on me.  But no matter how this goes down, I'm sticking to the plan and you have nothing to worry about.

Becky:  I understand.  I'm not crazy.  I won't go crazy.

Jackie:  Just beat Liz..that's all you need to do...beat Liz.

(Well, that didn't work so well yesterday, Jackie...)

Shelli is in the room, too, and they start discussing whether or not to tell Liz, and when to tell her.

Shelli: Maybe I shouldn't say this....but their connection is strong...Liz and Austin, and she's going to tell him if we tell her.

Jackie:  I think so too.

Shelli:  She'll either tell him, "why did you betray me?" or tell him that he's being targeted.  And then she might not want to use the PoV.

Vanessa:  That can't happen...that can't happen.

(Oh...but I think it could....)

Shelli:  But if there are prizes....she's already down there talking about winning prizes, so maybe she'll go for those instead of the Veto.

Will One Twin Twist Up the Plans This Week? #BB17

Shelli ran into Jackie in the bathroom and they had a quick whispered conversation. Shelli assures her that Austin has no idea what the plan is, and is talking about the upcoming Double Eviction, when the Jury will start, and other game topics.

(Shelli just left the room and this is fresh info she is sharing.)

Alone in the bathroom with Austin, Liz is a little agitated.  She feels like something is going on.

Liz: I have a bad feeling.....I just don't know...

Austin:  Why?  You're safe!  You saved yourself!

(Liz and James won the BoB, but she suspected James wanted to throw it.)

Austin: It's because no one is talking to Clay right now...he's in danger with the other side of the house because of the accusations Audrey made about all of the alliances.  Steve is getting sent home this week...that's the plan.

Liz: But why would anyone waste their HoH on Steve?

Austin:  We have to get Clay off the block.  He really wants Julia to come in the house.  He said that if he thought James was trying to throw the BoB, he would have thrown it to make sure you were safe.  But you won anyway...you're safe.

Liz:  Uh huh.

Austin:  You're too good....having to come in here again and clean up fucking Julia's mess.

Austin:  We just have to make sure Clay is safe so Vanessa can put Steve up.  We have to support Vanessa because she's put her neck on the line for us so many times....two HoH's and a PoV.

Liz:  Yes, she's done so much.

Austin:  Look, we can't tell Vanessa that I voted to keep Audrey yet.  That is going to cause too much shit that we don't need right now.  They already think Vanessa is working with Steve because of Audrey...so maybe their plan was to let Jackie be the HoH so she could backdoor Steve instead of Vanessa.

(But Julia was the Twin that got nominated, and she went right up to the HoH afterwards and told Vanessa about Austin's hinky vote, his intentions, and his "Judas" performances in the DR.  I think Julia did tell Liz about at least part of this during their switch, based on what Liz says in a few minutes.)

Liz:  Something is just not right though about James.

Austin: I think he wants to just play the goofy role. It was obvious that he has been throwing the HoH comps, and also that BoB comp.

Liz:  Well, I'm onto him.

Austin:  If I found out he tried to do that to you, then I'll have a problem with him, too.

The camera crew wants to be sure we experience the subtle nuances of this Austin-Liz interaction.

(I regret to tell Austin that once the JokersUpdates crew starts posting about your hygiene, you are in Big Trouble.  For example, live feed updaters are now posting to report when Austin goes into the WC and then does not wash his hands, when he scratches his junk, and so on. It's virtually impossible to recover with the fans once this type of info is widely disseminated.)

(And let's not even talk about this issue.)

Liz:  I just think Steve is a fucking decoy!

Then Liz wanted to hear Austin's report again regarding what Jason said about the Twins....note that Austin is now telling that story as if Jason initiated the whole thing.  (But that is a lie....Austin actually started that whole conversation...)

Austin:  Jason says he wants both of you to be here..but he said he likes you better than the other one....I think we can align with him.

Liz:  Julia thinks you were trying to hurt her by telling Jason that stuff.

Austin scoffs at silly Julia...denying everything.

Austin is troubled, however, by how many times Shelli was trying to help Clay and Becky find the letters they needed during the BoB.

Liz:  I know...what the hell-ah? I could hear them saying, "the H is over there".

Austin:  I was getting so mad about that...I was about to go over there and see how I could help you.  Who was going to stop me....the Beefcakes?

(i.e. they call the Production crew who works the competitions "Beefcakes".)

***HERE'S THE THING***

Julia was trying to help by going to Vanessa to squeal on Austin.  Both Shelli and Vanessa are carefully planning the best time to talk to Liz about their plans, and everything they discussed with Julia.

How will Liz take the news?  Will she rebel against everyone trying to help them, choosing Austin over them?  Will she spill the beans to Austin, giving him the opportunity to try and stay in the game this week?

Personally I don't think they can keep a lid on these plans until the PoV is safely in a trusted person's hands.  There are too many people involved.  You know that old saying, something about the only way two people can keep a secret is if one of them dies.

And there are a lot more than two people who know this secret....

Scenes From Last Night - Long Hair, Blank Stare, Totally Unaware. #BB17

Last night the Kool Kids lounged around the HoH Suite and talked about the state of things in the house.   And even though Jason vowed after last week's HoH competition to stop discussing the details of what he knows about potential BB competitions with the other house guests, he just can't help himself.

Jason:  I sit out there and smoke my cigarettes and recite all the numbers to myself, over and over.

It sounds like he has memorized a string of numbers that correspond to the days that competitions were held, in order to quickly access the order of things that have happened in the house.  Shelli cautioned him about that July 4th weekend where some things happened after midnight, because tha might throw off the days.

They checked the spy screen and saw some people in the kitchen.

Meg:  I can tell that is Steve because of the (bad) posture.

Jason:  Oh, and Steve has been trying to give me the wrong information about the days in here.  For example he told me the day that Da'Vonne was evicted, and it was a day off.  I just let him tell me that, but I don't tell him what I know.  I never give him mines....

Shelli:  So did ya'll hear that?  Don't study things with Steve, because he's going to try and fool us.

Jason:  I was talking to him about the game the other day, and I did give him some real advice.  I told him that people  see him scurrying around too much, and told him I didn't want to offend him, but he is coming off like Andy Herren, who was known as a rat because he kept showing up in every conversation and then told everyone everything when he left the room.  So at least I wasn't a total dick, and did try to help him.

Meg:  But he hasn't changed at all.

Shelli agreed, and added that she can't stand how he just includes himself in conversations without being invited.  For example, someone came to get her the other day and called her into the bathroom to help with something.  Steve automatically jumped up and went with her.

Shelli:  And most of the time it has nothing to do with anything.  Like you can be doing dishes with someone and see him in the background, just sitting there.  And then in the middle of the conversation he will interrupt and say "What did you just say?" and then start asking questions about the smallest things that don't matter.

Meg:  Look, I hate to say this, but we are supposed to see Steve as a peer in this game.  But it's hard to see him that way because I feel like we have to baby him or tiptoe around his issues.  For example, Shelli if you did something stupid I could say "Shelli!  What are you doing?", but if Steve does it I don't feel like I can say anything.  It's just hard to see him as a peer competing on everyone else's level.

Jason:  Yeah.  I understand what you mean.

Meg:  I'm just like, you are not going to steal $500,000 from me!

Meg told a little story about someone asking where everybody was while she was in the kitchen.  Meg said a group was in the HoH, including Steve.  Then a few minutes later when they discussed something, Steve's head popped up over the railing---he had been laying on the plastic couch upstairs outside the HoH room.

Meg:  I mean, wouldn't you have popped your head up to say, "I'm here" instead of just lurking there?

Shelli described how he will sit at the chess board for hours, trying to overhear what is being said in the HoH room.  They wondered how close Steve is to Johnny Mac.  Jason thinks the two of them used to be closer than they are now.

Meanwhile, Austin and Clay have a little talk in the Hammock Room.  All Austin can talk about is the Twins, and also his growing irritation with Steve.  Austin assured Clay that he will be safe this week.

Austin:  Even if you stay up there, we have the votes to save you.

Clay:  I hope so.

Austin thinks Steve is the backdoor target and says that even if Steve is picked to play the PoV, he will probably throw it so he doesn't have to make any decisions.

Clay: It's important that he not know the real plan, then, so he doesn't try to win it and not use the PoV.

(Clay better hope not.....because then he might be in big trouble this week.)

Vanessa came in and had a little breakdown over the skin problems she is having on the left side of her face.

Vanessa:  I think it might be bug bites because they're all in a row!  And I've been battling this for days now, but I can't even go 10 minutes without wearing makeup in here because "they" won't let me!

As if to taunt her, BB called for Vanessa to put on her microphone.  As she left the room in search of it, Clay told her not to stress, because that will make things worse.

Austin feels like he and Clay are in the same boat in the BB house, since they both have showmances.

I have to say that Clay is a real smooth talker.  He doesn't even really have to lie because he diverts your attention to an adjacent issue.  I don't even think people notice that he slightly changes the subject.

Say what you want about Clay (and I know some of you are....), but he is in it to win it.  And yet he's not being a pig in there, he is always respectful to everyone including all of the girls.

Austin, on the other hand, is becoming obsessed with other matters.

Austin:  The idea that she (Liz) might go home to Miami and have Jeff lurking over there in Tampa just makes me sick.  If she leaves I will just lose my shit.

(I hate to tell Austin, but the dudes who may be lurking around Liz in Miami will make Jeff look like chump change.)

Austin:  Look, I think that Jackie might have been targeting Liz this week, but we really don't know.

Clay, smooth as silk: Yeah, we don't really know.

Shelli came in to join them and is apprehensive about being a Have Not for the first time with Clay (also his first time).

(I'm not sure if they know for certain who will be Have Nots, or even if there will be Have Nots, but they seem to think it will happen tomorrow along with the PoV.   I know America didn't vote for additional Have Not foods this week, so take that for what it's worth.)

Austin gave them advice about eating protein and such this week.  He seems to think they should start their day with slop, and then "eat at least a tablespoon of olive oil" so you can keep burning fat.  Shelli wants to have ice cream tonight, maybe even an ice cream sundae while they still can.

Well, enough talk about food.  Austin has other topics that he needs to get back to, like his love for Liz, of course.

Austin:  I just see Jeff being the kind of guy to ask Liz out on a date, and then get her really drunk and then do stuff to her while she's blacked out.

Shelli:  She seems like she'd be really fun to go out with and party.  You know, I have to say that I've really grown to love Julia as well.

Austin:  Really?  I'm glad someone does.

Shelli:  She's really sweet and I like her.

Austin:  You know what?  I was told at first that both Liz and Julia like, liked me, and I would have to like, choose between them.  I was worried that Julia liked me.  And then I was told that Jackie liked me, too, and also Jason.  I was like in the Pentagon of Love in here!

Shelli:  Well, I don't know about Jason.

Austin:  Yeah, I'm kidding about him.  But Julia kind of isolates herself.  She's always, like, doing dishes or something.  And its weird because I want to touch her like she's Liz, but she's not Liz.

Shelli:  She's probably really worried in here and that's why she keeps busy.

Austin: Anyway, I'll just be glad when it's Thursday and I can say fuck it and not hide anything anymore.  What are they going to do about the Memory Wall?  Where are they going to put her picture?  Are they going to split screen it?

Clay says they will have two keys.  Austin says Liz swears that picture on the wall is just her, and not mixed with Julia's face.

Austin:  Liz is the only one who went to Media Day.

Austin thinks the week after Julia enters the game, they will have a Double Eviction and then start the Jury then.  Shelli asks a few clarifying questions to make sure she understands the potential timing.

Austin:  It's going to start going really fast, so we just need to enjoy this.  We still have a lot of power in here and a lot of these people don't even like to win.

***OK***

If you don't know, Austin might be getting backdoored this week.  Saturday (today) is a very big day, because we will know who will get picked to play for PoV.  If Austin is not picked, chances are very good that he is getting the boot.

Unless Steve wins the PoV and messes things up.  He wants Becky gone, and might worry about using the PoV to save Clay because he might want to be sure Becky gets the votes to leave.

I guess it's possible that Vanessa could tell Steve about Austin targeting him, and the plan to backdoor Austin, but it's kind of hard to predict what Steve Moses is going to do...

I heard Clay and Shelli discuss when and if to approach Steve about the plans.  Clay thinks Steve knows everyone is talking game tonight, and not including him, so he might be worried.

Clay:  Let's wait and see if he gets picked to play PoV.  And then we can approach him.
