It's Time to Talk About Vanessa Again #BB17

Right in the middle of the HoH picture fun, the cameras abruptly shift to the Have Not room, where Vanessa is emoting with Shelli.  I felt lost, but now I think I've put it all together for you.

Apparently the minor issue is that Vanessa was upset about something and approached Shelli to talk this morning.  Shelli brushed her off and Vanessa is very hurt by this.

Vanessa:  I could see it!  You didn't want to be bothered by me! You treated me just like you treat Steve....you didn't care to deal with me at all. I'm so hurt..

Shelli:  Vanessa! Listen to me!  This is so vain, this is so vain, but I have to tell you.  I had a horrible night, and big bags under my eyes, and here it is, probably the biggest moment in Big Brother so far for me, and I just wanted to put on my makeup!

Shelli:  I swear!  I have to admit it! I have nothing but trust with you!  I was just having a bad moment and didn't want to be on camera looking like that!

Vanessa:  Okay.  But I'm the most clueless person in the game...I'm just hiding out in this room and all of a sudden everyone thinks I'm the mastermind?

Now I start to catch on to the major issue...it's that same old rumor about Vanessa being in an All Girl's Alliance.  Except apparently Jeff told Vanessa that Day was the one who told everyone about it, and this is upsetting to Vanessa.  She thought she could trust Da'Vonne, and they were becoming friends.

Vanessa's word is her bond, and she's nothing but trustworthy, and it's so hard to live in a place like this house, where that means nothing.

Da'Vonne came in and you could see the attitude when she saw Shelli and Vanessa were talking.

Vanessa, whispering:  I just want to ask her...right now.

Shelli:  Okay.

Vanessa called Da'Vonne over and asked if she heard the rumor about Vanessa being in an all girls alliance.

Day, rather coldly:  Yes.  It was brought to me.

Vanessa:  Oh.  Okay.  So it was true.  Because I didn't think it was true...that you knew about it.  Because I heard about that from someone, but I don't want to say who.

Day:  WAS IT AUDREY?

Day says Audrey is the one who told her about the girls alliance, but at first Vanessa wasn't even mentioned.  Her name was added later to the list.

Vanessa:  But did you believe it?

Day:  No.  Because I wasn't in it!  And I said from the first day that I wanted an all girls alliance, so if there was one I think someone would have asked me.

Vanessa:  And the funny thing is that they said I was in the alliance with people I never talk to!  Like Jackie, Liz and Becky!

Day:  Well, if you had a question about it, you could have asked me.

Vanessa:  But I gave her my word that I wouldn't.  And I keep my word.  My word is good.

Day:  Well, I've had it up to here with it.  Because I heard from Meg and Jason that everybody is just waiting for me to explode, so I'm not gonna do it.

(Da'Vonne is so cold with these girls.  She obviously doesn't like Vanessa.  But why?  If you wanted a girl's alliance, it seems like she would be a key person to have on your side, right?  I hate it when my favorite house guests don't like each other. )

***ALSO***

This is a picture of James poking his head in the Have Not room, where Vanessa was in the middle of telling Da'Vonne that she used to be a professional gambler, before she was a DJ.

Vanessa was explaining the various gambling money-making options to Day, who was saying "uh huh" like she was learning new information.  A few points I remember:

*  Vanessa explained that the "1 and 2" tables were a good place for her to play and make money to pay a bill if she needed quick money, but the "4 and 5" tables were riskier since the players were so much better.

*  She said the casinos have a 51% chance of winning, and if you learn how the system works in order to shave 1% off that, the casino can detect that and they have the right to prevent you from playing if they want to, since they are private companies. (ie. the poker dealers like Da'Vonne can detect that)

*  Vanessa has friends who wear disguises to play, but that is pretty radical to her.

*  She said she didn't really like to play poker, because the risk was too high.

*  She said that the atmosphere as a gambler is kind of depressing, because you're indoors all of the time and it's just not healthy.  She was usually the only woman and she felt like she had so much more to contribute to society, so she stopped doing it.

I have to say that Vanessa did a great job diminishing her poker background.  It was clear to me that she knew that Day might be a poker dealer.  (Austin figured that out somehow and told Vanessa.)

This was a PERFECT time for Day to confide in Vanessa, or even to say that she wanted to talk to her later.  Vanessa would have been cool with that.  But now she's probably never going to trust Da'Vonne completely, right?

And get this:

Day even asked Vanessa if she ever considered becoming a poker dealer, because her grandfather told her that all of the good poker players could be good poker dealers.

Why didn't Da'Vonne tell the truth to Vanessa?  They could have made a really tight deal that would take them far in the game!

Why doesn't Da'Vonne like Vanessa?  Why Why Why?

I think Da'Vonne made a half million dollar error in this conversation, and it hurts me to say that.
