LA Overflows with Past Big Brother Players Before Tonight's #BB16 Finale

There won't be room to post them all, so here is just a sample from the former house guest's Twitter and Instagram feeds.

At first I thought that was Amanda's new boyfriend in the picture below with Amanda, Gina Marie and Andy, but it is Arlie Shaban from BB Canada.

This is a great picture and Andy should use it for all of his social media profiles.

Devin!  With Arlie and McCrae Olson, of course.  Devin looks a lot smaller than I remember him, right?

Andy and Jeremy McGuire!  I loved me some Jeremy McGuire.  How fun would it be to get turnt up with Jeremy, Zach and McCrae?

This isn't a party picture, but I think it's funny.  Amber finally got her sweater back.  She left so many articles of clothing in the house when she was evicted...Zach wore this sweater on repeat for a number of days, even sporting it on a live show.

I'm not sure who Carrie is, but she snapped a picture of a big gaggle of Big Brother people before they even got their first round of drinks delivered.  That is Jon Pardy and Neda on the left, with Spencer, McCrae, Gina Marie and Jeremy ready to chow down.

Amanda arrived in LA later than most of the others, sporting a necklace that is one of Elissa's designs.  A lot has happened with regard to Amanda and McCrae in the last 12 months.  I tried to stay out of it because the fans got really nasty about the whole thing, but here is a Year in McCranda  bullet point summary, in case you don't know.  With any luck there will be some drama this weekend and you may need to refer back to this bullet point list later.

*  McCrae went home to MN right after the BB15 season ended, followed a few days later by Amanda, who must have sensed that he needed constant supervision.
*  McCrae traveled back to Florida with Amanda, and moved in with her and her roommate.
*  McCrae got some sort of job through a BB fan who owns a business in Florida.
*  Amanda conducted their personal business live on some internet chats numerous times while McCrae generally looked miserable in the background.
*  Suddenly Amanda's news about McCrae stopped coming, and they traveled separately on various trips.  The sudden silence was deafening.
*  Amanda decided to expose the McCranda scandal by taking to Twitcam and reporting the entire sordid story of their breakup.
*  Said sordid story includes Amanda finding a long letter McCrae wrote on his computer to his ex-girlfriend Jessica, professing his undying love for her and remorse at the mistakes he made last summer.  The story also features Amanda confronting McCrae about this letter, and then McCrae leaving her house in the pouring rain, reportedly looking for mind altering drugs, and being gone for a few days. Yadda yadda yadda McCranda breaks up, but professes to be "best friends".  However Amanda soon pitches a minor hissy fit when Judd visits Florida and goes to Universal Studios with McCrae, and she only learned this on Twitter and was stung that she was not invited.  Amanda then confesses that she and McCrae are not friends at all, and that they haven't spoken in a long time.
*  McCrae got his own place in Florida with one of his MN buddies, but recently moved back to Minnesota and reconciled with Jessica, and apparently got his old pizza delivery job back.
*  Amanda fell in love with some other guy, definitely a hottie, and he has moved in with her.

So it was a busy year.  But Amanda does look good.  So that's something.

Gina Marie and Amanda, reunited again.  Wow Gina Marie looks good, huh?

This is a picture of the beautiful ladies of BB16:  Brittany Martinez, Amber Bozotra, Paola Shea, and Joey Van Pelt, who is sporting a new hair color.  Amber turning her backside to the camera reminds me of Victoria's portrayal of her during the ill-fated BB16 "Broadway Show".

Another group shot of the usual suspects. but this time raising a glass and toasting.  And Amanda sitting a fair distance away from McCrae.  Did it feel awkward?  I wonder....

This picture adds Michelle Costa from BB10, who Derrick mentioned as being someone he wants to meet after tonight's finale---they are both "Rhodies" from Rhode Island.  Lawon is also in this picture.  I have no comment about him, nor Gina Marie's choice of denim.

If I were Michelle, I'd try to make fast friends with Derrick.  Because from what I've seen of her in the past few years, she may need a few favors at some point from a friend in law enforcement.

Love this picture of Spencer and McCrae.  Spencer has lost quite a bit of weight and has a downright handsome face under all of that beard.  He recently started making weekly appearances on a radio show to discuss reality TV shows.

Spencer again, with McCrae and Gina Marie.  That is Spencer's girlfriend Marilyn in the picture on the far right.  She really exists, people!

Elissa is in town, of course, visiting with Rachel and Robyn Kass, who heads up casting for BB and a number of reality shows.

This picture is actually from a reality event in Las Vegas last week but I am posting it because Brittany and Rachel both look so pretty.  Those two have become fast friends.....

Hurry Up...Get Up...and Then Shut Up For the Season #BB16

This morning the live feed video crawl told us all to be sure not to miss the Final Three signing off of the live feeds for the season.  I don't remember ever seeing an alert about this in past seasons, so I made sure to tune in to see what would happen.

As it turned out, not much.

They got woken up by music, and from the sounds of Cody "singing" this morning, I think the song was Just Like Paradise, with the lyrics "This must be just like living in paradise, and I don't wanna go home."  (By David Lee Roth...here.)

When the feeds came back, the air was filled with the sound of vigorous tooth-brushing.

And Victoria was primping, of course.

Cody said he was going to pack up his toothbrush and put it in his suitcase.  He also said he was going to make the last pot of coffee in the Big Brother house, and then pretended to cry and sob.  He did that for so long that I thought he might really be crying.  It certainly was annoying to hear in my wireless headphones, but he finally stopped after asking Derrick if that is what a baby crying sounds like.

(I think it sounded worse, but that's just me.)

Derrick started carefully removing his most prized possessions in the house---the little notes that his wife sent in his HoH baskets with his daughter's hand and foot prints, and her own hand prints.  Derrick was being very careful to mind the tape on the edges.

Derrick and Cody visited The Hive one last time.  The cameras weren't on Cody, but I think he was practicing making the Hit Men hand gesture as Victoria was voted out tonight.  If you don't have the live feeds, then you probably don't know how cranked up Cody can get in the house, just bursting with energy and being very loud.

It's not always fun to listen to, but Cody is clearly more comfortable than he was at the beginning of the season.  He started out being so quiet and seemed shy and unsure of himself.  And now he's like the annoying little brother that you just want to slam the door on.

Victoria ended up having to make the pot of coffee.  I guess Cody was just too busy being Cody to take care of that crucial task.

More evidence of Cody's energy...he jumped on Derrick in a surprise gesture.

Cody:  Bet you didn't see THAT coming.

Derrick:  No, I really didn't.

The feeds flickered on and off to FISH, and then when they returned the Final Three were sitting on the couch, and were talking to the live feeders before saying goodbye to us.

Cody made a statement about not knowing how important the live feeds were to the fans, but said after talking to Derrick about it all summer, he can't wait to be part of it all next year.  Cody also said some of his favorite moments in the house involved getting to know Zach and all of his fun mannerisms.

Cody:  Once he told us all about getting "Turnt Up", we all went nuts and had so much fun. I love that kid and it was so fun getting to know him.

Victoria said her favorite thing was seeing their families on screen during the live show and both Cody and Derrick agreed.

Derrick thanked the live feeders for all of the love and support, and apologized if they were a little boring at times.  Derrick encouraged all of us to try out for the show, and to just do it because it is a great experience.

Derrick:  And it was a pleasure playing with the two of you, even though I'm going to smoke Cody later...

Derrick also said he loved the competitions, and remembered reading something Ragan Fox (BB12) wrote online about knowing that each competition was designed especially for them, and how he should enjoy each one.

Cody mentions how magical the competition sets were, and gave us a hint about the theme of the HoH Part #2 competition that we will see tonight on the Finale (a gold Egyptian palace).

And all of a sudden, they were done, and all stood up and walked with purpose in the direction of the kitchen.  (I'm sure Victoria is ready for her cup of coffee...)

Once they got to the kitchen, Derrick looked up at us and said there was only a minute left of the live feeds, and then a few seconds later he was gone.

And the live feeds are over for the season.

The outcome of the season may or not be very predictable tonight, but we still have plenty of surprises to look forward to.

*  Seeing the reception the Jurors get as they enter the studio. (i.e.will Frankie get boo'ed?)
*  Watching the reveal of Team America, and learning the total dollars they won.
*  Finding out who won America's Favorite Houseguest  (please...please....please...)
*  Potentially seeing Christine reunite with her long-suffering husband Tim (of course that will happen, but we may or may not get to see it on camera---he got sober this summer and is going to surprise her with that news.)
*  Seeing Derrick reunite with his daughter Tenley, potentially after winning the biggest cash prize ever awarded on Big Brother.

The End is Almost Here.... #BB16

And it is more bittersweet than usual for me.  I really liked this season, and felt more engaged in the action than I have in years.  I really liked having a cast full of fresh faces, and I can say I honestly liked watching most of the cast members this year.

I actually picked Derrick to win from the very beginning, when I watched his preseason interviews.  But there were more than a handful of other players that I would have been happy to see in the Final Three.  I think they gave us a good show this year.  I know there are plenty of Big Brother "fans" who have been griping about how boring these house guests are, but I ask you to consider the alternative.

Do you want house guests who are just putting on a show for us?  Or people who really want to win this game?  Because one rarely leads to the other.

Every year I try not to  bitch and moan about particular cast members, so that people can visit the website and read my updates regardless of their favorite house guest.  And I know how hard it must be to put yourself out there like they do, and it can be excruciating for their families.  But Frankie really broke that rule for me this season.  I think at least 99.9% of the fans can all agree that he was one of the most hated Big Brother contestants of all time, so I really let him have it the back half of this season because I felt we all agreed.  I think it was fun for all of the fans to bond over our communal hatred, and Frankie certainly gave the viewers a lot of ammunition to despise him on a daily basis.

Right now the house is silent, except from some steady breathing as the Final Three sleep, and some occasional banging sounds from behind the wall.  The backyard is usually set up for Finale night with an assortment of huge props from the competitions this season, with room for the media to set up for interviews after the live show is over.

Yesterday Production ordered in lunch from Panera Bread for the second day in a row.  Cody was the one who chose the restaurant, but he may or may not have been prodded to make that selection.  Because I noticed that Panera recently became a pretty visible sponsor of Big Brother After Dark, on TVGN.

(And TVGN is changing their name to "POP" beginning in 2015.  The Final Three even did some little promos to let us know that, so we don't freak out.  About that, anyway.)

When they unpacked their lunch, Derrick and Cody immediately started crunching their kettle chips, which sounded just like you'd think they would sound...salty and snappy between their teeth.

Victoria looked at her sandwich and started giggling, so they told her she really needs to get out of there before she loses it entirely.  She handed Derrick her pickle spear and laughed about that, too.

(Personally, I hate it when that damned pickle spear leaks pickle juice on the bread of my sandwich.  It is always the first thing to hit the trash can when I have take out deli food.)

Cody:  What would you do if they came over the speaker and told us we had another week in this house, and had to do over one of the HoH competitions?

Victoria:  I'd love that....  (because it would give her another chance).

During the live Finale tonight, one of the Final Three will be evicted and will immediately walk out onstage and sit with the Jury.  The Jury will also each get to ask the Final Two a question as a part of the final Jury deliberations.

(Last year they ran out of time for questions before someone....maybe McCrae...got to ask their question.)

So to prepare for this event, yesterday the DR had to ask the Final Three what they would do if they had to go out and become part of the Jury...who would they want to address they question to?  I could tell from the stilted discussion between Derrick and Cody that they were both perturbed by that question.  The DR voice told them both not to get paranoid....the question wasn't meant to imply any specific outcome....they just needed to know for planning purposes.

And after much ado this week, I think Derrick has Victoria clearly expecting to be evicted tonight, and is still confident about getting her vote to win.  So I'm thinking Derrick will indeed try to win the Final HoH competition tonight, and not face the risk, albeit very small, that Cody would take Victoria to the Final Two.

I don't think Cody would do that, but it is a possibility that would be devastating for Derrick after all of his hard work and planning this summer.

Derrick made it look easy most of the time, but if it was that easy everyone would have tried to do it.

Cody got soup and salad, but he spent a good five minutes removing things from the salad and scraping off bits and pieces that he didn't want to eat.  Like the tomato, etc.

(Cody is not a healthy eater....he said again yesterday that every day at home he eats a pepperoni and cheese sandwich, which probably has a sodium and fat index right off the charts.)

Last night on BBAD, before and after every commercial break, they showed footage of the Final Three answering Twitter questions from fans.  It was taped earlier in the week, but it was fun because all three of them got to hear all of the questions, and also the responses.

I didn't finish watching the show yet, but none of the questions were game related.  Cody kept getting questions about dating, so he must know he will have a line of ladies waiting for him when he gets out of the house.  And the ladies might not even be waiting...they might be pushing and shoving each other over to get a piece of Cody Calzone.

A few examples of questions I remember:

*  Derrick:  Why did you shave off your facial hair?  It looked so hot on you!

Derrick said it was scratchy and hard to maintain in the house, but he might grow it back later.  (What, he didn't have the time to maintain it in there?)

*  Cody:  Would you ask Nicole for a date if Hayden doesn't mind?

Cody hemmed and hawed but said he thinks Nicole would be a blast to hang out with, so he would ask her out but only if it is okay with Hayden.

* Victoria:  What are your favorite and least favorite things about being in the house?

I forgot her favorite thing, but she did say her least favorite was sharing the bathroom with all of the guys because it was "kind of gross".

*  Cody: Would you ever date a fan?

Cody started giggling at this and finally said that if it "felt right", he would date a fan.

*  Victoria:  What are you going to shop for first when you get out of the house?

Victoria said a "backless maxi dress" because those dresses are a must living in South Florida.

*  Derrick:  What is your signature dance move?

This was the best question I saw....because who in the world could ever imagine Derrick dancing.  He stood up and said his "stripper days" were far behind him, but then he stood up and from the side bent down and touched the floor and then kind of wiggled back up.  Maybe he got that move from Zach...

Wil Heuser Presents: The Bloopiest Bloopers Ever #BB16

Wil has put together a collection of bloopers from all of his fine work this summer ridiculing Big Brother 16.  I started laughing from the start, as Frankie does his "energy exercise".

I could use about 24% less Jocosta, but that problem will soon solve itself.  It always does.
