Hard Choices Lead to Hard Conversations #BB16

You may know by now that the following nominations are fresh out of the Big Brother oven:

Nicole:  Donny & Amber
Derrick:  Jocosta & Caleb

I'm very surprised by at least two of these nominees.  I had an appointment this afternoon so I didn't get to watch the action leading up to the nominations, but I'm sure I'll catch up on the details soon.  If you have info to share, please spill it for the benefit of all of us.

OK.

Nicole is trapped n the HoH room with Devin, who is going on and on and on about himself.  I think he wanted her to confirm he would be backdoored later this week, if at all possible.    I suspect Devin Shepherd will attempt the coward's way out of the Big Brother house.  I think there is a good chance he will leave on his own, a "D.O.R.", or maybe even be ejected for poor conduct like BB11's Chima Simone or BB14's Russell Willie Hantz.

I say this because last night Devin told Britney he went to read the BB Rule Book to find out how to self-evict.  Either the Rule Book itself, or someone in the DR told him that the entire Production staff and crew really put their hearts into making a good TV show, and quitting the game would be totally disrespectful.  I think that the DR told him this, because a few seconds later BB told Devin to stop talking about Production.

Devin's response was for them to shove it, and I believe he also recommended that they shove the Rule Book, too.  I know there were two shoving requests made by Devin.

And, he was very sassy...actually very rude to Production on Wednesday night as well, refusing to follow direction.  (You can see that here, about halfway down the page the Devin drama starts...)

So blah blah blah Devin droned on and on.  He mentioned that Jocosta was in the HoH bathroom, in her ongoing quest for defecation.  Which she mentions over and over every goddamn time she opens her mouth.  (I'm sure that is uncomfortable, but it is more uncomfortable for the house guests to hear about it over and over.)

Also, there are only two toilets in that house, and fourteen people, so she needs to do the math and poop or get off the pot, to quote a famous saying.

Anyway, Devin wanted to talk about himself.  And the whole show has been about Devin so far...and he has been living it large in the HoH Suite ever since he came in the house.  So the fall to living downstairs, with no power, no alliance, no friends, and probably no food coming up shortly, are going to hit him hard.

He's not a fan of the game, so he doesn't care about it if he's not winning.  He can make his exit about whatever he wants to make it about (hint:  daughter daughter daughter daughter...) but if he leaves before being voted out he will be a poor sport and a weasel.  Without any honor or integrity.  (ha ha ha)

OK.  Enough about him.  Down in The Hive, Amber is talking to Christine and Victoria.  She is trying to put on a brave face, and can't wait to just get the Battle of the Block over with.  She must know having Donny as a partner can't hold a candle to being partners with Caleb.  And now she's competing against Caleb and Jocosta.

Even with Jocosta's plumbing problem, that's a tall order.  (And that was the plan, apparently.)

Amber's a tough girl.  She just needs to get fired up for the big game.  I like this look for her, too.  She's giving us fierce realness.  I hope she doesn't turn into a crybaby. I hate that.

Christine stretches.  After all, it's been a long day.  They've all been awake for about two hours now.  I'm sure Victoria is ecstatic to not be nominated, since her name was being thrown all over the place since the HoH competition.

Christine goes over and gives Victoria a hug on her way out.

Christine:  I hope you enjoyed my bosom!

Victoria:  What?

Christine repeated it, and Victoria said yes, she certainly did.

Oh...Cody was in the room, too, doing his stealth job of keeping tabs on all of the girls.  He even made a sad little speech about how he wished people would talk to him about what is going on in there.

By the end of this thing, Cody's acting might be too good for the soap operas...

After the Team America meeting (You can see that here.) Derrick asked Donny if he had any questions about what happened this morning.

Donny, clearly smarting:  Nope.  No questions.

Derrick:  None at all?  You're good to go?

Derrick said that he knows Donny can recite who got nominated, but he's not sure Donny understands the rationale for why Nicole nominated him, and the overall plan for the week.  Donny was very curt and snappy with Derrick, so Derrick kept him in there, putting his Good Cop skills to work on Donny.

Amber came in, and Derrick pretty much told her to get the hell out.  So she got the hell out of there.

Derrick started by talking about Paola's eviction last night. Derrick says he's not sure keeping Zach was the best option for his game.  He brought up the fact that many in the house think he is still working with Devin, after Devin put the Bomb Squad on blast, so he hopes what happens this week will put those fears to rest.  I don't think he came out and said he would backdoor Devin, but I think that was strongly impled.

Derrick told Donny that the BB Rule Book (the one Devin wanted Production to shove) says that the two HoH's cannot tell each other who they are nominating.  They just can't and it's that simple.  But Nicole told him that putting Donny on the block was a last minute decision that came about after a last minute conversation.  An unnamed person (i.e. Amber) said they heard Donny talking this morning about how the Bomb Squad was still working together, and how the others need to work together.  I don't think Donny admitted this, but I don't think he denied it.

Derrick's having a hard time talking to Donny, who seems to want to withdraw when he's upset, instead of venting. He's giving  Derrick a lot of short answers and "uh huhs" and it doesn't seem like what he really wants to say.  It feels like bad blood, actually.

Derrick says he talked to Jocosta about the nomination beforehand, but Nicole didn't talk to Donny because she didn't plan to put him up until the last minute.

Jocosta came in and had to mention her damn lack of pooping AGAIN. TMI Jocosta, TMI.

Donny brings up that the last time they talked, Derrick said that Team America needed to work together on the nominations each week, but Derrick never even discussed it with him yet.  Derrick acknowledged that was a valid point, and he apologized.

(Donny seems to know that Derrick expected him and Frankie to talk about it if they were HoH, but not the other way around...)

Victoria and Britney came in and got stuff and left.  Donny was working on a crunchy apple, chewing aggressively.  He says people shouldn't expect him to be all bright and happy about being nominated, and Derrick agrees.

That didn't go well...not well at all.  Donny may be in trouble, because he made his frustrations very clear to Derrick.  And I think Derrick would rather have $500,000 than a few $5,000 payments here and there.

Let's face it, Team America would never make it to the end, anyway.  They don't trust each other.

(And the devious feedsters started voting for Donny once he was on the block, because they wanted to screw up the twist by having the second member get evicted like Joey did.  That is the truth...I didn't report it here because I didn't want to encourage that, but it happened.)

Hayden came in, looking like an adult for a change.  I like it.  He agrees with Derrick's decisions, and confirms that he overheard what Donny said this morning.  Derrick was glad that Amber didn't lie about it.

I think Derrick can certainly sense that Donny was up to something.  That's his job, to sense things like that.
