He calls himself a "pizza Boy" and is proud of that fact. He likes his life and his job and Jeff gives him the rock on that.
Jeff: I like McCrae's attitude!
Jeff wants to get a tattoo with that saying on his back and there is more laughter. McCrae can be a flirt and a ladies man but it really depends on the cast and who the girls are. Jeff agrees and says he really likes McCrae and will enjoy watching him all summer.
How can you not like McCrae? It would be like not liking pizza, or something equally preposterous. He seems incredibly genuine and is a True Super Fan, and I'm always excited when they cast someone who knows the game. He is smart enough to know that all plans could go out of the window depending on the cast and the twists.
I just can't wait until he tells someone in the BB15 house to Know Your Role and Shut Your Hole! You know the DR is getting to work on that already....it's just too good to leave on the table.
He seems to be free of the ego problems that are common to many reality wannabes. He could easily be dismissed and fade into the background when he needs to this summer. It will break my heart if McCrae is a floater. I can see him pulling some Ninja moves in there, maybe casting some hinky votes here and there. And potentially getting some MVP action from the fans as well.
I predict McCrae will make the jury, and his Big Brother knowledge will come in handy due to the relative predictability of the challenges at certain points in the game. In order to win, I think he needs to keep his Big Brother knowledge kind of quiet.
I must confess I saw this Tweet from Janelle, McCrae's fellow Minnesotan earlier today, but I did not let that influence my impressions of McCrae. For gods sake McCrae, don't tell anyone you've met Janelle! Shut your hole about that! ha ha ha
My new favorite saying....
New News about McCrae Olson posted here.
She made fun of Rachel talking about "me and my man", being a "chemist", and her fiance "going to UCLA" and Jeff got a few chuckles out of that. Then he clarified that it's "all in good fun". Then he admits that Rachel is a winner and I can tell Jeff is enjoying himself in this role.
Elissa states that she's "in it to win it" and she's got her "eyes on the prize", and the rest of the house guests can be as catty to her as they want to be, but she's there to win the half million.
FeedWatcher First Impression:
I can't make my official FeedWatcher Forecast yet because I just don't have enough information. I found Elissa to be colorful, bubbly, and intelligent. Exactly what you would expect from a Reilly. If she can keep from being too preachy about being healthy, she can be a real asset in that house, teaching daily yoga classes and sharing her nutrition knowledge. She's likely to be a demon in the endurance and balance challenges.
I do wish Jeff had spent the time asking her some more probing questions, like her plans to divulge her connection to Rachel Reilly. Or if she is going to keep it quiet as part of her strategy.
Do you think she can keep it on the down low? If there is a Big Brother Super Fan in the house that follows Rachel, they would definitely know she has a sister named Elissa. I will have to search for them, but I know I've posted pictures from Rachel's Twitter that included Elissa a few times.
I think it might even be wise for her to tell people she is single, and Slater is her maiden name. Because you just know they will want to boot her ass as soon as the truth about her family connection is discovered, right? Or maybe to suck up to her to get on her good side, in case she might be a Fan Favorite.
(I never understand why the BB house guests don't try to feel out who the fans like to strategize their relationships. For example when Janelle won America's Choice to leave the BB6 house for a trip to the Two and a Half Men set, and also the America's Choice telephone call from home, the Nerd Herd ostracized her even more. When the fans don't like you, you're in for a rough ride, even if you are lucky enough to win. Just ask Maggie Asburn.)
But I digress. As usual.
Elissa is already getting a lot of unnecessary hate from the "fans" who think the MVP twist is tailor-made for Elissa, due to Rachel's tremendous Twitter following. And how "unfair" the MVP twist is....
Those "fans" are going to complain no matter what happens this year. It's part of their Big Brother tradition. I think we should just wait and see what happens before getting our panties in a wad. Let the effing season start before you start hating, haters!
Of course, the chatter is loudest about Elissa Slater, who is Rachel Reilly's little sister. ( I discussed the rumors about her being cast here.) I don't know about you, but I'm expecting some Game with a capital G from Elissa.
As usual I will be watching all of the videos and summarizing my thoughts about each BB15 house guest in next few days. With a FeedWatcher Forecast for each as well, of course.
I ended up having an extraordinarily busy afternoon at my "real" job and haven't started to dig in yet. But trust that I will get through it all as quickly as I can, but with my usual attention to detail.
I am super-excited about this year's show and am hoping every single one of these people are In It to Win It.
I'm ready for a few good villains, aren't you? Some dastardly deeds? Some backstabbing and blindsiding?
In just a few hours, the house guests (or at least a portion of the house guests) will be revealed, and then the internet will blow up with all sorts of information and juicy gossip about the lucky BB15 cast and the twisty summer they have ahead of them.
But first....let me take a minute to challenge all of the fans, and particularly the live feeders.
I've been a part of the Big Brother live feed community for years, first as a frequent live feed updater on one of the big BB websites, and here on my own website since the first weeks of BB11. Every year, live feeders joke about their lives going down the toilet as they are glued to their computer screens. They talk about all of the sweet and salty snacks they are stockpiling, the amount of house work that isn't getting done, and sometimes the great lengths they go to in order to stay informed of any BB news while they are at their jobs.
Here's the thing...we all know it is much easier to make habits then to break them. I am challenging you to take this opportunity, this 100 days of BB summer to either make at least one good habit, or break a bad habit. You have until next Wednesday to make a declaration to yourself, and then you have 100 days to make something really good happen in your life.
If you've been procrastinating, this is a perfect time to start. Just do it. It might be hard, but know that if you stick with it, the changes will stick around too.
You can stop eating junk food in the afternoon, start walking your dog regularly, read to your kids every night, or stop throwing clothes on the floor of your closet. Whatever you'd like to do. Whatever you know in your heart that you need to do. It can be very empowering.
And let's face it, you can be accomplishing something good while you are wasting your time worrying about a reality TV show. Once the show is over, your new good habits will still be there. And that is the part of life that really matters.
I've told this story before here, but I'll summarize it again.
I was a "party smoker" for years. I would bum a smoke when I was out in the bars, and had a roommate for years that would knock on my bedroom door and invite me to share a cigarette on the patio before bedtime. I would quit for a few months, and then see friends who smoked and start smoking again. I tried to hide it, but even if you just smoke two cigarettes a day, people know you smoke. My neighbors could smell it wafting from my patio. I tried to quit more than a few times, but would always cave if the opportunity arose. I tried to tell myself that I could stash a pack of Marlboro Lights in the back of a kitchen drawer for when a particular friend visits, but of course I went through them myself.
The night of the BB11 premiere, I didn't watch it live, because I went to the Braves game, fully intending to be home in time for the live feeds to start. I wasn't driving that night, so I had a few beers and came home to find only one cigarette left in the pack. I smoked the hell out of that cigarette, then watched the first BB11 episode on the DVR and then the live feeds started and I got caught up in that.
The next day I wanted a cigarette, but I decided to quit. For real and for good. Just like that. In the back of my mind I said, "just quit for BB11 and then see what happens". That was the day I quit for good, and I can thank Big Brother for that.
Now, maybe my house was a mess and I snacked like crazy for the rest of the summer while I watched the live feeds, but I accomplished something important. And it stuck.
