Newbie Preview - Meet Jenn Arroyo, Rocker Chick #BB14

Jenn Arroyo is one of lucky newbies cast for Big Brother 14.  This interview is exclusive content on SuperPass.  In contrast to previous years, this interview is chopped up so that it moves quickly, rather than traditional question and answer format.

OK, here we go.

1.  Jenn is the oldest house guest I've seen so far, and she is a singer/guitarist in the band Jenn City, and is formerly the bass player in Kitty.

2.  Jenn has a bubbly personality and is very energetic.  She seems intelligent and is expressive, using her hands a lot.  She tells us in a humorous fashion that she "has some smarts".

3.  She plans to be an honest player who will "definitely break some hearts and a little dirty work in the background".  She thinks people will judge her on her looks and will use that intimidation to her advantage.  She plans to "lean back ever so slightly because people tend to give things away with their actions, and their vocabulary".  She is very good at reading people and "can smell a rat from a mile away".

4.  She is very physical and loves to work out, loves to run.

5.  She is going to play the competitions by ear.  It may be in her favor to throw one now and then, she may need to "throw some wild cards out there".

6.  She's "worried about slop, but she's not worried about slop".  She will miss her own home cooking but as long as she's getting the proper nutrients she should be okay.

7.  She looks forward to wearing the crazy costumes in the competitions like being a big hamburger.  She doesn't just say that, she elaborates by naming the toppings and the way they would flow off her body. (She's expressive.)  Jenn:  "I'm on my way to a half million dollars, what do I care?"

8.  She will probably gravitate towards the guys, but her "female friends are amazing".  Some women are catty at first then they get over it.  She will probably cry in the house--she is not afraid to show her emotions.  She's a sensitive soul.

9.  Her biggest fear is a snotty person whose never worked a day in their life.  Jenn:  "I just can't.  I just can't."

10.  She is not a smoker, but can drink us all under the table.

11.  She will miss cooking, whipping up some eggs and salsa, or a panini..she loves a great sandwich... and good Mexican food.  She would love to cook for the house and jokes she will burn it down.

12.  She wants to look nice in the house so she has to flat iron her hair.  That is the one girly thing she will cop to, is caring about her hair.  She hopes Big Brother has a flat iron for her.  (They can't take their own appliances in, I guess.)

13.  Not being able to play her bass is going to be "brut-al" for her, but she is willing to make that sacrifice to further her career.

14.  She has two stepbrothers who are twins.  She thinks her family will be super proud of her and will understand her antics.  She thinks they will get a kick out of the show and will expect her to get into trouble in the house.  Jenn:  "They know how I roll...they know me...they love me.."

15.  Jenn is "absolutely" single and expects to get into "nekkid lady trouble" in the house.  She's not looking for  showmance but if there are some pretty ladies she will be looking at the menu but not necessarily touching.  If a showmance comes up, she is "looking for either" but she knows that there may be hidden agendas there.  (I think by "either" she meant either a real relationship or a showmance, not a man or a woman.)  If there is a pretty lady, she can be a sucker, so she needs to be careful.  If it is legit, she will "thank the love gods" for bringing that to her.

16.  The ladies she likes are confident, sexy, smart, takes good care of herself and her body and has that special something.

17.  Ladies she doesn't like just talk too much about nothing.  Jenn is all about a good conversation but if they can't carry one Jenn is out of the door.  If you can talk to her then you are going to be friends or lovers...something.  The kind of guys she doesn't like are the close-minded, frat boy ones--she just can't deal with that.

18.  She would like to put together a "nice tight team" in the house as an alliance, but needs to play it by ear.  She doesn't need a huge alliance--she thinks that can hurt you in the game.  She is worried about circumstances outside the house---she hope her family is well but she is afraid of getting a phone call about trouble with her real life.

19. Boondock Saints and American History X are her favorite movies. (JoJo said her favorite was Boondock Saints!)  She loves a good zombie movie.

20.  She loves music to move her soul.  Metal, rock and roll, classic, house, dubstep, she likes it all.  She doesn't love country music, but she likes the stories they tell in the songs and appreciates them.  Her band Jenn City is "rock and roll with metal sprinkles on top".

21.  Her band found out about BB when they saw the invitation in her guitar case.  She had just told them that "something was being filmed, to be ready for filming on Sunday, and to trust her that it would be good for them and it could change all of their lives".  She said they "freaked the fuck out and couldn't believe it and it happened right in front of them."

22. She has played on "tons of albums".  The Kitty album "Until the End", for Suicide City both of their albums, and the new Jenn City album will be out in October and is titled Out for Blood.  She jokes that if our towns still have record stores, we can find them there.

23.  She shows us a few of her many tats.  First the Mom tattoo.  She loves her mom and looking at that tat will help her get through the next few months.

24.  Then she shows us how she can turn it upside down and it says Wow. Her mom likes that.  Sorry for the blurry picture.

25.  Then she shows off her chest, joking that she's not trying to flash anybody.  The male voice says "Yet.." and she laughs with him.  These are her "faith and hope" tattoos and she wants to look in the mirror everyday and remember that.

26.  We can find her on Twitter @missjenncity and also Facebook.

FEEDWATCHER FORECAST:   Wow I really like Jenn.  She is a fast talker but her babble has content.  She is a ball of personality and I think Jenn Arroyo is a star.  How will that play in the house?  The last lesbian that was cast (that I can think of) was Ivette (BB6) who hid it until fairly late in the game. Jenn is just right out there with it and I think that genuine attitude will help her.  I hope Jenn goes far, but she is surely going to need to suffer some fools along the way.

Who Will Be Jenn's Mentor?   Hmm.  I guess it depends on the format of the Mentor-Mentee interviews.  If they get a private one-on-one interview with the Mentors, then I can't imagine that all of them won't want her on the team.  Except maybe Dan, since he is kind of right wing conservative.  I think Mike Boogie would be wise to pick Jenn early in the draft.

**So far I'm impressed with the casting. **

**Breaking News** One Newbie Drops Out - Bye Bye Mike #BB14

Bye bye Mike, we hardly knew you.  In fact, we didn't even know you at all.  Mike could be seen on yesterday's commercial saying "what did I get myself into?"

Well, I guess he's gotten himself kicked off the show.  You can see that commercial here.

His replacement is Joe Arvin, does not have a preseason interview since the interviews were conducted over a week ago on Media Day.  This is from the SuperPass website.
Joe looks like a chef to me.  Isn't that a chef coat he has on?

***Also***

I was just in the middle of watching Shane Meany's SuperPass interview and recapping it for you, and it froze up on me.  When I tried to find it on the SuperPass website, it was gone.  Not that this means anything.  Shane is going to be a doozy, so I hope the video reappears soon.

Newbie Preview - Meet Ian Terry, Lovable Nerd #BB14

Meet Ian Terry, one of the lucky newbies cast to appear on Big Brother 14.  This interview is exclusive content on SuperPass, where you can still get the Early Bird Special Offer through July 11th.  (Don't be scared, just click on the link in the above left corner of this webpage and you can be watching these videos yourself within 5 minutes!)

OK.  Here we go.

1.  Ian is from Pittsburgh, but he is attending school at Tulane, down south.  He loves it, it's a work-hard, play-hard environment and is very competitive but is rewarding when you succeed.  He mentions the atmosphere at Tulane being 'laid back' twice. If he has to miss the fall semester because he is in the Jury House or still in the game, he is fine with that, but he is an engineering student first and foremost.  He is living one of his dreams by being on the show, though.

2.  He will miss Bruno's cheese fries, and I think he says that twice and says that they are excellent.

3.  He started watching Big Brother when he was 10, during Big Brother 2.  This is the first time he has applied to be a cast member.  He started watching the live feeds during BB12 and continued the feeds through BB13.  He has seen every episode of the CBS show since Season 2, and considers himself a huge fan.  (I agree with that assessment.)

4.  He mentions Dr. Will as being the best BB player, and then some other players that are refreshing (for me) to hear.  Roddy from BB3 had some of the same qualities as Will and Jack from BB4 who played a good honest game are also Big Brother players he admires.  He liked how Dr. Will kept everyone guessing and manipulated everyone on both season he appeared on.

5.  He doesn't plan to let the other players know how much he knows about Big Brother---he will let them know he understands strategy, but won't mention details like the color of the carpet in previous seasons, etc.  He thinks that will put the other people off.

6.  He would like to be a hero in the house, but suspects he will actually be a villain.  He does plan to be in an alliance with at least one person--you have to have an alliance, according to Ian.  He will be as honest as possible and would like to play a genuine game, but thinks lying is necessary to win.  He will not be a floater and will choose sides.  He will not be a player who doesn't have a plan and just meanders around day to day.

7.  Physical challenges may be tough for him, but the mental challenges will suit him well.  He has a talent of remembering what date different things happened for an absurd period of time and thinks this will help him.

8.  Slop doesn't sound good, but Chicken George did it for a long time so he will go for the longest period of time if he has too.  He will wear a ridiculous outfit if he has to and is up for anything he needs to do. (Ian is referring to the Veto Challenge where you bid on horrible prizes to win the POV.)

9.  He can see himself crying in the house depending on what happens, and may yell at someone.  Anything can happen in the Big Brother house.  He is trained at reading people and making observations and drawing conclusions so that should help him in the house.

10.  His least favorite players?  Chima (BB11) due to her behavior in the house.  It was clear that she didn't want to be there,  she complained all the time, didn't want to participate, so she shouldn't have been there.  He also mentions Amber from BB8 as being an annoying crybaby.  (These are also refreshing answers and prove to me that Ian is a genuine fan, not just someone who knows Brendon and Rachel from watching in sequester.)

11.  He is single (SHOCKER) and would be up for a romance with a brunette who is sweet, cute and genuine.   She must be intelligent and down to earth.  He likes redheads, too, but is not partial to blondes.

12.  He is a neat freak and is going to hate living with someone who doesn't wash their hands or god forbid doesn't flush, he is going to have problems with them!

13.  He is neither a dog or cat person.  They are nice, but make a mess and he doesn't like that.  (Boo.)

14.  He watches Survivor, used to like The Mole, and the Challenge series on MTV.  He used to watch The Amazing Race but not so much anymore.  He considers himself a HUGE Survivor fan.

15.  He is very worried about having to evict someone on the first night--he would like to spend at least one night in the Big Brother house.  He saw this happen on an international version of BB and he is concerned about this.

16.  He has been on Survivor Sucks for years and used to post there and has been insulted a few times after posting about their speculation about things.   He also posts on Digital Spy and says we can figure it out and does not want to name his friends on the sites.  He wrote a few updates for BB sites, but mainly just watched the live feeds.

17.  He gives a plug for the Live Feeds and will be aware that we are all watching the entire time.  The live feeds really let you know what is going on in there and he thinks he has an advantage in that he is familiar with them..

18.  He has one younger brother who is 19 and is worried about embarrassing his family with his antics.  When asked, he lists a host of these antics, like being goofy, doing cannonballs in the pools, etc.

19.  His is being allowed to bring all 7 pairs of his crazy colorful sunglasses in the house.

20.  His favorite movie is Office Space.  He  loves to read and his favorite books are The Great Gatsby, East of Eden, and Drunken Walk, a book about how randomness can affect your life.

21.   He likes rock and house music and recommends the Artic Monkeys and thinks we should all check them out.  He also is a fan of Calvin Harris' music.

22.  He is an occasional smoker, and enjoys a few beers here and there but doesn't plan to go crazy:  "It won't be like Animal House in there for me."

23.  He supports all of the Pittsburgh teams and give the Pirates a shout out.  He thinks they are finally having a good season this year and it is ironic that he may miss it.

24.  He can't imagine anyone famous knowing who he is, although he says it seems possible now.  He would consider any opportunities that are offered for Reality charity-type events, but his goal is to be a Chemical Engineer so his feet are firmly on the ground.

25.  He gives a big Shout Out to all of us, the Big Brother fans and knows how important we are to the game.  He watched for 11 years and look at where he is--we should keep trying to get on the show if that is our dream.

FEEDWATCHER FORECAST:  Ian is adorable.  He has a very easy, pleasant speaking style and nice teeth, which is an important quality for the nerdish types.  Part of being intelligent is what you know, but most of being smart is how you use what you know.  If Ian can use his extensive Big Brother knowledge and sprinkle it with his scientific powers of observation and drawing conclusions, he may go very far.  I think the Alpha Males won't worry about him too much, but if they are all worried about his skill in the mental challenges he may be at risk.  I think Ian will make the Jury, at least.

I think Ian is going to be one of my favorites.  He is a real person, and a genuine fan.  It is no surprise he was cast, after the popularity of Cochran on Survivor.  Ian is much more appealing than Cochran, however, and seems to lead more of a well-rounded life.

Who Will Be Ian's Mentor?  If Dan doesn't choose him, I think he will go very late in the draft.  I don't think he will want to be on Janelle's team since he doesn't seem to admire her type of game.

Newbie Preview - Meet JoJo Spatafora, Italian Hottie #BB14

Meet JoJo Spatafora, one of the lucky newbies cast for Big Brother 14.  This interview was posted on SuperPass and is exclusive content.   OK.  Here we go:

1.  JoJo has an accent we are all familiar with from the Jersey Shore.

2.  She is a promotional model.  You have a problem with that?   I think JoJo expects you to---she quickly defends it as good for networking, easy money.  She loves it.

3.  Ed Note:  Is she related to Vito Spatafora from The Sopranos?  You know, the rotund construction supervisor who was a little too interested in Meadow Soprano's fiance?  If so, I am truly sorry if I offend anyone in the entire Spatafora extended family.

4.  JoJo wants to be a villain, but is going to feel things out the first few weeks in the house.  She wouldn't mind being a floater but wants to see what the twist is.  Anything can happen, she might surprise us, who knows?  (Not a big show of confidence, but sometimes the mouthiest contestants in preseason interviews crash and burn the fastest.)

5.  Of course she will open Pandora's Box!  Big Brother is about taking chances and taking risks.

6.  She hopes this isn't like BB9 and they match them up with soulmates.  She also doesn't want to see anybody from her past like "an ex" or an enemy, etc.

7.  She describes herself as a "new" BB fan, but a hardcore fan.  She's a "quick fan, or whatever you want to call it".   She started watching it a few months ago and became obsessed and she sees why we're all obsessed!  (Translation:  She started watching during the casting process.  This doesn't mean she was "recruited" necessarily, but she might have gone to a blind audition without knowing it was Big Brother.)

8.  She has watched some of season 3, some of season 6, she watched some of season 8, some of season 9, she finished season 11, 12, and 13. (OK, that is a lot of Big Brother to watch in just a few months.  I'm guessing Production wanted her to be familiar with the Mentors, but it sounds like she may have missed Mike Boogie, huh?)  As soon as she is out of the house she wants to finish watching every single season.

9.  Her favorite season:  Season 8, because "I'm sure you agree with me...Evel Dick...amazing!"  She'd like to be the female Evel Dick, if that's possible.  (Evel Dick has already been putting it out there that JoJo is the hottest BB14 chick, so I know he will be thrilled to hear JoJo's praise.)

10.  The worst person on BB?  JoJo tells us that Rachel played a good game, but her attitude was terrible.

11.  Who could really mess up her game in the house?  JoJo had to really think about it, but she finally admitted that she would butt heads with Rachel, but she concedes that Rachel is "good TV and really fun to watch".  Also, JoJo doesn't know if we will remember her, but Carol from Season 8---"C'mon, do something and try to win! Don't just give up!"  (Yes, we remember Carol.  I remember Mike Donnellon talking about how bad Carol's breath was.  True story.)

12.  The male interviewer ask how she thinks she will do on slop.  JoJo groans.  She loves to cook and plans to do so in the house. One day "wittout" eating will put her in a grumpy mood, and she doesn't want to take a cold shower.  She hopes she doesn't have to be a Have Not, but whatever.

13.  I just noticed JoJo has one of those little diamond stud piercings on the left side of her upper lip.  Would you scar your face like that if you looked like her?  I wouldn't. Hell no.

14.  She wants to show the fans a good social game.  She's a big talker.  She's definitely single or ready to mingle but seems hesitant to have to hook up in the house.

15.  But if "I hadda...male or female....no I'm not LIKE THAT, but if I hafta make out with a girl to help my game...just make out, I would."  She's not looking for a showmance, because it will affect her game and she doesn't want to be a target.  If she could do it on the DL though, she would do it and then get rid of them, maybe see them after the show.

16.  She is emotional and might cry if she hears from her family. She has a TWIN SISTER FRANCESCA and is going to be emotional about that.  If someone can really make her cry for real in there she will be surprised.  Her twin sister is her everything and if she can win, her sister would be so proud.  She misses her already but hopes to see her sister in Pandora's Box or win a phone call from her.

17.  She has a Big Brother named VITO SPATAFORA!!  OMG--see #3 above!  Vito is 31.  Her mom is a fan of Big Brother (a recent fan) and will be watching.  She is worried about her parents, grandparents, etc seeing her on the show and being disappointed in her.  They are very old fashioned but JoJo has to be herself and keep it real.

18.  She was "kind of a bad kid....staying out all night, getting wasted" and knows we can all relate to her.  She is by far from perfect and has made mistakes, but perfect "is boring".  She doesn't like responsibility at times and maybe this experience will help her grow up a little.

19.  If she wins she will use the money to help her family after everything they've done for her.  She will invest some of it, and will "definitely get $10,000 boobies...not too big, just up one cup size to D".

20.  She's a bit of a neat freak and won't like to live with people who don't clean up after themselves.  She is very blunt, honest and will tell it like it is.  She will cheat, lie, steal, whatever she has to do to win.

21.  Her favorite movie is The Boondock Saints--"c'mon what's not to love about two sexy badass twins who kick ass?"

22.  The last book she read was Eat, Pray, Love and she loves the message of it.  She is a huge reality TV fan...the Kardashians and the old shows like Rock of Love, Flavor of Love.  "The Bachelor..I like it, but it's kind of too classy for me.."

23.  She is a big Britney fan--she loves to dance, house music, the whole thing.  But she also loves Aerosmith, Bon Jovi, classic rock.  For some reason she thinks this combo is going to shock us.

24.  She loves sushi--tempura sushi especially.  (ha ha ha)  She does smoke and drinks wine here and there.  Her twitter is @JoJoDoll1 (I think?)

25.  This is the first time she's tried out for Big Brother.  She feels really lucky and that is a spiritual thing for her.  She feels nothing is impossible--the very word itself is "I am possible" and that is how we should all feel.

26.  She shows us her tats---this one "means nothing, but she likes stars".

27.  She says this one has meaning--I think it is the symbol for Virgo.  I'm guessing her sister has that one too.  (I have a gorgeous friend who always gets the same tattoos as her twin, but on opposite sides and different colors.)  Those are some shoes, huh?  (And now please welcome JoJo to the stage!  ha ha)

28.  And this one has meaning, I guess. She "loves to be different and stand out".

FEEDWATCHER FORECAST:  I'm thinking JoJo may be a polarizing force in the house.  With her beauty and what I am guessing is a Va Va Voom body, she is going to stand out whether she wants to or not.  We all know this is not a good thing in the Big Brother house.  She is going to have to work hard to get on the good side of the other alpha females, and not be too obvious about bonding with the guys.

I like JoJo and think she will make for some interesting live feed viewing.  I don't know if subtlety is in her bag of tricks, so there may be some great cat fights ahead of us.  I don't think JoJo will make the Jury.  (Sorry Vito!)

Who Will Be JoJo's Mentor?  Hmm.  I don't think Dan will touch that with a 10 foot pole.  But Mike Boogie will probably be first in line for that, whether he's her mentor or not.  I don't think Janelle will be afraid to take her on.

***Also, from my extensive business travel (almost 4 years of 48 weeks a year on the road) I think I can recognize an Embassy Suites living room suite there in the background. ***

Missyae Gets No Credit as the Rumors Go Mainstream #BB14

At first, when the Mentor Twist rumors were exposed by Missyae @TheGameSurvivor, there was an Air of Denial coming from the CBS camp.  They tried to counter the rumors by releasing bogus info via TheCornerOffice (you can read about that misguided effort here, over here, and then wrap up your research over here).

But now, miraculously, it seems there is a general acknowledgement that the Mentor Twist reveal was not a rumor, but a spoiler, and is indeed true.

Frequent Big Brother media writer Andy Denhart from Reality Blurred has written an article that ---get this---gives Evel Dick Donato credit for confirming the rumors.  Andy Denhart's "source" is a rather sad video that Evel Dick released yesterday, where he begrudgingly admitted that the Mentor Twist was true, mumbling something about getting emails from producers, etc.

At no time did he credit the correct source, Missyae.  Nor did Andy Denhart.

A few notes:

1.  Evel Dick's video release was not so much a confirmation of the Mentor Twist, but a commercial to plead with fans to buy a summer-long membership to his RTVZone podcasts.  He mentions Jeff Schroeder as being part of the website, knowing full well that Jeff's legion of fans will pull up the sofa cushions and empty the piggy banks to scrape the money together to see Jeff on Evel Dick's podcasts.  But is Jeff's participation solid?  How many podcasts will be issued?  I don't want to go off on a tangent about this, but you can see the video for yourself here. Membership is only $9.99 if you order now, or $14.99 afterwards, so it's not a big loss if it doesn't pan out.  Last year the RTVZone Big Brother podcasts ended abruptly after this one aired, but who knows what will happen this year.

2.  The fact is, Evel Dick claimed the Mentor Twist rumors were a Big Fat Lie from the moment they were released.  He even planned to call the rumored mentors on camera to prove this as a part of the aforementioned video.  No calls exist, but I think that could be for many, many reasons.  And when I say "many", I mean "numerous and plenty".  Here is the link to a post from way back on June 29th that includes Evel Dick's tweets.

3.  Andy Denhart seems like a nice enough guy, but just below the article he wrote about the Mentor Twist is an article proclaiming that The Glass House is a great show, and is so compelling, yadda yadda yadda.  I guess he has to kiss ABC's butt a little to ensure he has access to the Bachelor and Bachelorette contestants.  It's business, people, and sometimes you have to do things you don't want to do for your job.

4.  Just like CBS --how could they credit Missyae after the history they have with him?  If you don't know by now (and why don't you know?) they sued his ass due to the information he disclosed about Survivor.  You can read about that here.

5.  If you don't feel you have all of the information you need about the Mentor Twist, just type that phrase into the search box on the left margin of this site and you can consider yourself informed.

Speaking of information, Missyae just keeps dropping information on us.  Here is some intriguing information he dropped on us last night---what is the deal with Rachel Reilly's involvement as a Mentor and the SuperPass Rumor Control show?

If you want to support Missyae, you can join his Big Brother Whispers Facebook group, where he is sure to keep dishing the dirt all summer long.

**Question**  Does anybody know if Evel Dick is still engaged?  I saw him on a RHAP podcast recently and when asked if he had gotten married yet, he said "Hell No!"  I've been engaged myself once (actually..twice...) and that doesn't seem like an appropriate response, does it?
